Scout Island Fencing Club is proud to host its 10th Annual Épée de Groundhog tournament on February 27th at Mountview Elementary School near Williams Lake. See here for directions. Registration will start at 8am.
This event has seen competitors descend on Williams Lake from Prince George, Vernon, Kelowna, Vancouver, and Abbotsford. Locally, we will see the three fencing communities of Williams Lake, Horsefly, and 100 Mile join the fray.
The main event is an open epee competition. In past Groundhogs we've seen it won by the likes of Jason Gourley and Ali Ulker. There will also be epee events for U12 and Cadet. For sabrists there will be an open event as well. That often makes a good run at stealing the show from the epee events, and has gained popularity in certain parts of the province. "Feel the Steel!"
